Trend Alert: Nautical fashion!

While surfing the internet, I found a new fashion trend. Some website that I like to check out regulary, are talking about nautical fashion. Wearing anything that looks like you're going away sailing on the weekend seems to the the latest! Navy blue, stripes, white, red, espadrilles, white slim capris, cotton dresses, ruffled skirts. Take a look!

Homemade Mexi-Pizzas

I have to give credit to my sister for this recipe. I think she made it up from things she had in her fridge, and then just perfected it. My husband looooves them and they are pretty satisfying and super easy to make!

You will need:
  • Ragu Pizza sauce (or any other brand of your choice)
  • Grated mozarella cheese
  • Ham or pepperoni
  • Flour tortillas

Step 1: Take two flour tortillas and put some grated cheese on one of them. Put another tortilla on top (like a sandwich)co and put it in your toaster oven on high for about 5 minutes.

Step 2: Check them out and take them out of the oven when you feel the tortillas have turned a bit hard and crispy. When the cheese in the middle melts, it'll join the two tortillas together and create a sturdy "pizza crust".

Step 3: Take some sauce with a spoon and spread it on the top of the tortilla, then add the ingredients you want. It can be ham or pepperoni (or any other ingredient, I've used tuna!)

Step 4: Add some more grated cheese and put them back in the toaster oven. Leave them there for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese starts bubbling. Be careful not to burn them!

I like this recipe because you don't use the regular pizza shell which can be quite thick and heavy, this version is much lighter.

Funky Junk's Saturday Nite Special UndertheTableandDreamingHomemaker In Heels

Debo darle el crédito a mi hermana, creo que inventó esta receta de cosas que tenía en su refrigerador y luego la perfeccionó. A mi esposo le encantan y son llenadoras, y super fáciles de hacer!

Vas a necesitar:

Perfect French Manicure

I came up with this method 20 years ago (when I was 16, in case you're wondering!) when I wanted to get a perfect french manicure. I noticed that the girls working at salons didn't use anything as a guide to draw the white part, and I'd leave the salon looking at the uneven line on my fingernail, and being the perfectionist that I am, that really bothered me.
I originally used micropore, because it adapts well to the curve of the nail. I know you can buy special decals for this purpose at beauty stores, but I don't think they work as well. They don't adhere well to the nail, so that's why I use this method.

Step 1: Check out the things you'll need. Scissors, micropore or masking tape, white, light-translucent pink and clear nail polish.

Step 2: Take the tape and cut it in piece of about 1 inch long. Then, that same piece, cut it in pieces of about 1/4 inch wide.

Step 3: Take those pieces, and you're going to place them on your nail, shaping the curve as you like it. What I do to make my nails look longer, is make the area that will be white a bit bigger than the actual white part of my nail. Place the tape on every nail.

Step 4: Take your white polish and paint the nail. (Only the parts that will be white) Wait 5 minutes.

Step 5: Take the tape off and you will see that the white area is very well marked and even. Take your pink polish and cover your nails with one coat. Wait 5 minutes.

Step 6: Finish it off with a coat of transparent polish. Voilá! (If you have some polish left on your skin, use a nail file to rub it off.)

My love for vintage fashion.

This post is simply dedicated to the fashion from the past that continues to inspire me today. There is something about the way designers used to make their clients look and feel whether they were famous stars or not. There was such a femininity and glamour, not only in fashion but in every single detail in their everyday lives.
