The Oscars is a well-known yearly event in which the movie industry is awarded, and it is considered the most important event in show business, which is why celebrities wear the best of the best, that night.
I would like to review some of the best and worst that we saw last night at the ceremony.
Here is my list of the best dressed in no particular order:
Anne Hathaway
Jennifer Garner
She usualy shows up in some very boring looks, but I love the grape color of this dress, and I really like the ruffles in the back.
Nicole Kidman
I love her gothic look. The woman looks like she can't move her face anymore fro so much Botox, but if she just stands there and poses, she's good.
Naomi Watts
I like it when women take risks in fashion, but good risks, clever ones. I think this is simple, chic, and modern. She pulled it off.
Sandra Bullock
This is classic, with a mix of retro and goth. Love it.
Helen Hunt
You know how celebrities wear all kinds of expensive designers for the ceremonies, have dresses specially designed for them, even more if the ceremony is as important as this one? Well Helen Hunt decided to go down a different route and chose a dress from the store H&M which in Hollywood world is a sin. I think she looks good. I think the dress is nice, simple and classy and it doesn't look cheap at all. Rumor has it she was wearing $150,000 worth of jewelry.
Charlize Theron
I love this woman, and she can make a sack of potatoes look good. She has the poise of a queen it's all I have to say.
Norah Jones
I like this, it's simple, it's metallic which is the color of the season, and is flattering. You need nothing more.
Catherine Zeta-Jones
Some made fun of her because she was dressed as "an Oscar" but I think she looks amazing. Yes, the dress is golden but is discrete.
And my worst dressed list, which I'll divide in two:
Category #1: Celebrities who chose dresses that are EXACTLY the same color of their skin. Why would they choose to make themselves invisible?
Catehgory #2: Celebrities whose dresses are plain hideous.
Category #1: aka "Invisible Women."
Jessica Chastain
Amanda Seyfried
Amy Adams
Why do they do this!? Don't they want to stand out? Special mention to Kristen Stewart because her dress belongs to both categories, and she has a horrible attitude. Amy Adams, I love her, but her dress looks like it was made out of used tissue paper.
Category #2: aka "Horrendous For Various Reasons"
Kerry Washington
Jennifer Lawrence
You know you're wearing the wrong dress if it prevents you from accomplishing the simple task of going up 4 steps. Plus, it looks like a big tablecloth.
Jennifer Aniston
Is not that her dress is so horrible, although it could have been two inches shorter. And it also looks like she just asked for the biggest "Quinceañera" gown she could get. She is accomplishing nothing, is the same old look as always, same hair as in Friends, she looks bored and worn out. BORING.
Zoe Saldana
There is too much going on. It's either the three shades of gray, or the oppening in the middle, or the bow in the waist, or the belt, or the flowers on the cleavage.
Salma Hayek
I love her, being my fellow Mexican, but...She's tiny, and doesn't have a long neck. That neckline made her neck disappear. And I just hate velour. Velour is a fabric that designers use to make something look very elegant and expensive, and it turns out cheesy and cheap. Other than that, I think she looks pretty good.
Halle Berry
I just don't udernstand this. Her dress is hypnotizing me.
I hope you enjoyed my review just remember it's my opinion and everyone is entitled to one, and if you didn't, go wirte your own blog! ;)
